An SAP consultant knows the SAP software solutions and helps companies use them correctly. A distinction is made between SAP process consulting and SAP basic and technology consulting. A process consultant for SAP Finance, for example, is very familiar with business processes in finance and, among other things, sets up the SAP software for the customer's accounts receivable department so that the dunning process is fully automated. Process consulting is available for the different departments in the company: e.g. sales, materials management and procurement, production, maintenance, financial accounting and controlling, human resources but also for the overarching topic of sustainability. An SAP basic and technology consultant, on the other hand, is the first point of contact for the customer's IT department when it comes to, for example, cloud architecture, cyber security, analytics or the use of AI. If you would like to build up your initial SAP skills in consulting, you can find interesting, free SAP beginner training courses here and receive a digital badge (so-called Record of Achievement) that you can share on LinkedIn.

An SAP developer has expertise in SAP programming and plays a crucial role in customizing and extending SAP software for businesses. An SAP developer should have in-depth knowledge of SAP programming, including programming languages such as ABAP or SAPUI5. Understanding of business processes, problem-solving skills and teamwork are also important. An SAP developer supports companies in adapting their SAP systems to their individual needs and integrating them seamlessly with other systems. This improves the efficiency of business processes and enables the implementation of customer-specific requirements.
An SAP project manager takes over the planning and control of SAP projects and is responsible for their successful implementation within the specified budget and time frame. A successful SAP project manager has strong skills in project planning, communication, risk management and team leadership. In addition, a comprehensive understanding of SAP systems and business processes is essential. The SAP project manager helps ensure that SAP projects are carried out smoothly, goals are achieved and the value of the SAP implementation for the company is maximized. They ensure that projects are completed within specified parameters.
